Our mission is to advance energy independence through practical solutions that enhance microgrid stability, enable trigeneration, and reduce carbon footprint. By supporting diverse fuels and grid applications, we provide affordable, clean, reliable, and secure energy.
We are an Australian technology company established in Sydney in 2019 with the purpose of creating clean and affordable energy systems.
From the outset, we envisioned microturbine technology as the optimum future solution within renewable and distributed energy networks.
Our commitment is to be at the forefront of the clean energy revolution, delivering cutting-edge microturbine solutions that empower individuals, communities, industries, and governments to embrace sustainable energy, ultimately working towards a better and greener future for all.
Since our foundation, we have systematically developed both Microturbines and their corresponding Digital Twins. Our engineering processes encompass conceptualisation, analytical modelling, experimentation, subsystem and system-level integration, measurements, and extensive testing. We have developed proprietary data processing, modelling, and diagnostic algorithms, continuously striving to improve with each engineering cycle.
Through numerous iterations and prototypes, we have successfully completed two microturbine models with power capacities of 3kW and 80kW respectively. Our Microturbines possess unique patented designs and have undergone extensive operational testing in relevant environments. Today, all Florestan Technology Microturbines incorporate a built-in microcontroller system with wireless communication capabilities, enabling remote control and monitoring from Android, iOS, or Windows devices. This integration facilitates real-time monitoring and diagnostics, propelling us towards the full product validation and the implementation of smart grids with advanced optimisation algorithms based on AI and ML.
In recent years, an increasing percentage of the Australian power grid is being supplied by solar panels and wind turbines. This inherently creates increasing concerns over the future stability of the power grid as electricity demand increases.
While wind and solar energy offer many benefits, such as reducing carbon emissions and decreasing reliance on fossil fuels, they also present challenges to grid stability due to their intermittent nature.
Our multifuel/renewable fuel microturbines (including when powered by hydrogen), can help overcome the challenges of grid stability. The capability to store excess renewable energy as hydrogen for later use and provide fast and flexible power when there is a mismatch between supply and demand, ensuring uninterrupted operation 24/7 represents a key opportunity. Our microturbines combined with a commercial hydrogen system offer an ideal solution for the future of renewable energy in Australia and the world, contributing to a zero-emissions future.
